As caravan and motorhome insurance providers we know that owning a caravan gives you so much freedom… and there’s a lot to see and do on your doorstep.

The UK is home to some fantastic caravan sites all with a variety of attractions nearby. From coastal parks to woodland hideaways start to discover the UK today.

And there are some lovely places to stay…

Greenacres Camping

Greenacres Caravan Park

Greenacres is a campsite to suit all.

On the doorstep of Glastonbury it’s a great place for festival goers or if you’re not in the festival mood, its peaceful location is perfect for a relaxing getaway too.

The Guardian refers to the site as “the place to stay for less than £100”.

Things to do

From beaches to woodland Greenacres is not far from fun and adventure. Meaning there is plenty for you to do and see.

Wookey hole is one such place – a magical underground experience that is fantastic for the kids. Let their imaginations run wild as they explore the caves history and legends.

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing try the local golf club. The 18-hole parkland course and panoramic views will make you feel refreshed and ready for a day of family fun.

Doe Park Camping & Farm

Doe Park Camping and Farm

Doe Park is a family run site with sheltered pitches and beautiful views.

Set in 200 acres of farm land the site provides a unique and friendly environment to discover nature – it’s the perfect place for animal lovers.

Things to do

In the wide open spaces surrounding the park you can enjoy leisurely activities like walking and cycling.

From the site you can visit Teesdale – explore the local history at one of the castles or take a stroll in the Eggelston Hall gardens.

This site is great for touring the North of England. If you don’t mind taking an hour’s drive then Doe Park is an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Hadrian’s Wall.

Tattershall Lakes

Looking for something for everyone? Then you’ve found it.

Caravans, wooden lodges, wild camping and even glamping are amongst the varied accommodation.

Visitors adore this site and it’s easy to see why with its open-air hot tubs, indoor swimming pools and spa it is camping at its finest.

Things to do

If you find yourself with nothing to do amongst the hot tubs, swimming pools and beach then there are plenty of activities to try.

On the water’s edge you can go wakeboarding, jet ski-ing, play golf, and even try archery.

There’s entertainment for the kids and the Boathouse Bar for you too.

Camp Katur

Fancy a glamping experience? Camp Katur is the place for you, set in 250 acres this is the home of outdoor adventure. Enjoy the comfort of the safari tent, tipi, bell tent, hobbit pods and unidomes all nestled in the magical woodland.

Things to do

As the home of outdoor adventure the activities are amazing. Whether you’re looking for a solo, couple or group activity there is something for you.

When seeking a little excitement try the climbing wall, segway treks, quad biking or Aerial Extreme treetop adventure.

Wine tasting, pamper sessions and workshops are a few of the more relaxing activities at Camp Katur.

Blackberry Wood

A school bus, helicopter, gypsy caravan and cabins are all unique places to stay in Blackberry Wood. Situated in Sussex and in quiet countryside this is a retreat that allows you to escape the stresses of everyday life. You can even bring your own tent, if you fancy.

Things to do

Explore the surrounding woodland and get to know nature. As Blackberry Wood is on South Downs (Britain’s largest National Park) you are free to enjoy cycling and refreshing walks.

Fancy a day at the beach? Take to Brighton for a stroll along the pier or a spot of shopping. If the rain begins to fall the kids will love a visit to the Brighton Sealife centre, discovering the creatures of the sea
