The sea air, the sound of gulls calling, there is nothing really better than pitching up at a beautiful campsite on the coast.

As motorhome and caravan insurance providers we get this – using our Campsite Finder we have selected some of our favourite coastal campsites for you to visit this summer. Pack the bucket and spade…we’re off to the beach!

If you love the water then Pentewan Sands is the place to be. This well kept campsite boasts a choice of two indoor swimming pools and its very own privately-owned beach. The great news is that it welcomes motorhomes, caravans and tents or you have the choice to rent one of the spacious onsite holiday homes.

Things to do

If you fancy a break away from the beach there is plenty to do at Pentewan sands. Whether that’s a couple of laps of the indoor swimming pool, or a game of tennis you’ll find something for all tastes.

If water sports are your thing then you’ll find sailing, water-sking, wakeboarding, windsurfing, kayaking and paddleboarding down by the beach.

If surfing is your thing, this is the campsite for you. Ocean Pitch offers quality camping with excellent facilities (including a surf hire shop) and only a short walk to the beach it really is a surfer’s paradise. If surfing isn’t your thing then Croyde village is home to some lovely walks and great pubs for you to sample, and is only a short distance from the campsite, or you can venture along the coastal path and explore other beaches in the area.

Things to do

The main attraction to Ocean Pitch has got to be the wonderful beach right on its doorstep and the fantastic surfing that it offers. If you’ve never tried surfing before Ocean Pitch has surfboards and wetsuits for hire and there is also a surf school nearby to help you get going.

If you need a break from the beach then there are plenty of activities to get stuck into in the surrounding areas, such as boat rides, horse riding and kayaking. If you’re after something a little more relaxing there’s an abundance of pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and ice cream parlours to wile the day away.

Is there a campsite by the coast that you love to visit and would like to share? Why not let us know on Facebook and Twitter and we may add it to our Campsite Finder.
