When a new Coach or Minibus Insurance risk is presented to an Insurer or Insurance Broker, a number of key points are always looked for in determining what kind of insurance premium will be placed on your business and what kind of risk your business will hold for an Insurer.
When you make the quotation call or click online, it’s vital to have all details at hand…
One of the first concerns for an Insurer is where your coach will be housed when not in use. A locked compound or secure private property is always a preferred risk to the side of the road or a supermarket car park, where random incidents or even acts of vandalism are commonplace.
The next point on an Insurers checklist to look for is experience. A coach operator that has been operating for a number of years will be able to prove their claims and driving experience and so is seen as a predictable risk and easier to apply a discount to your Coach Insurance for with fair safety that the Insurer will not have to pay out any claims outlay.
As an example, if your Coach business has been in operation for the past 5 years with only one minor non fault collision, its pretty safe for an Insurer to predict that as an operator you take care with your driving and your vetting of drivers.
If there isn’t any no claims discount to apply on the policy try and ensure that you can provide a Letter of Experience or any other documentation that you can, that can back up your proof of good driving and subsequently lead to potential discount.
