Staveley Head, a leading provider of competitive HGV insurance, was alarmed to learn that a business man from Bury had 35 skips worth £20,000 stolen from his skip hire company in Rochdale, Bury.
Having only started his business a month ago this is a devastating blow for Ross Osborne. With 35 of the 40 skips owned having been stolen and the thieves severely damaging one of his vehicles by slashing the tyres, Mr Osborne has now moved his business to Heap Bridge, Bury. The new location has round the clock security and, by a kind gesture from the bosses of a company at the new location, the use of one of their skips.
Mr Osborne, whose wife is expecting twins in September, said:
“I’d been saving up for ages before I opened the skip business in April after about a year of planning.”He is said to be devastated by what has happened.
Staveley Head offers cover for skip hire companies via its online hgv insurance quote system, and the HGV team is aware of the risks posed by reckless thieves.
