Happy Anniversary to an iconic camper van

One of the most loved camper vans of all time is celebrating a very special anniversary, the Volkswagen camper van celebrates 60 years in production this year.
Beginning life carrying panels around Volkswagens car plant the VW camper van’s true beauty wasn’t discovered until the late 1940’s. Dutch importer Ben Pon made sketches based on the vehicle to include the split windscreen, cylindrical headlights and famous circular logo and struck a deal with engineers to develop the model.

“I guess it's the iconic status that appeals. The youngsters love it but it also acts as a mobile office and I can sit and use the laptop.”
