As a leading car insurance broker Staveley Head thinks it makes a change to see a lighthearted car related survey reported in the press which will give most people a chuckle.
The survey by Elephant insurance has revealed in car injuries don’t just relate to driving related incidents. The poll of 3,000 motorists revealed nearly 20 per cent of people who got 'cosy in the car' injured themselves. Top of the list of injuries was a banged head followed by pulled muscles and bumped knees and elbows.
Of all the drivers polled, only 46 per cent of Northern Irish drivers said they’d like to get romantic in the car whereas South west England’s drivers seem most up for some in-car cuddles with 61 per cent owning up to enjoying some auto adventures.
56 per cent of drivers who admitted enjoying rear-view rendezvous said the back seat was their favourite spot while 6 per cent admitted to using the boot.
Even the model of vehicle was taken into account with the top preferred passion wagons being a Land Rover Discovery, Volkswagen camper van, a Rolls-Royce, a Volvo Estate and an Aston Martin.
Brian Martin, Elephant’s managing director, expressed his surprise on seeing so many people admitting to using their cars in this way adding:
"The results show people's passion is a spur-of-the-moment thing - it seems some people just can't wait for the bedroom."
