With the streets of London looking to make their taxi cabs greener with the introduction of zero-emission fuel hybrid taxis, it appears a coastal town in Norfolk is also looking at adding a greener way of travel.
According to the press, Sheringham Town will have added two new additions to it's taxi fleet from mid July. The two eco-friendly taxis will be pedal powered between the North Norfolk Railway station and the promenade.
The pedal powered taxis follow the start of the City Cruiser service, which saw Norfolks first Smart car taxi licensed, and running in North Walsham from Monday 12th July.

The three-wheel rickshaws have been licensed by North Norfolk District Council and are treated in the same manner as normal taxis. The licensing process involves rigorous safety checks on the vehicle as well as checks on insurance cover and vehicle ownership.
Councillor Hilary Nelson said:
“We're delighted to add this fun and sustainable type of transport to the already varied and top-quality fleet of taxis. I’m sure visitors will love them.”
