New research by a home insurance company has revealed with the summer hotting up, insurance companies are already busy this year with an increasing number of alcohol related incidents at home.
LV= Home insurance’s survey of just over 2,000 people revealed many people were partying at home which is leading to more accidents. With the World Cup taking place this year along with some warmer weather over half of the people surveyed are choosing to entertain at home.
Managing director of LV= home insurance, John O'Roarke said:
“Everyone enjoys having get-togethers at home and the hot weather is a great excuse for a party. But our research shows that having friends over can often result in accidents, and we see thousands of insurance claims each year for problems like red wine spillages on carpets.”
High up on the list of breakages this summer are games consoles and computers along with TV sets. Alcohol fuelled breakages also include damage to furniture and carpets as well as glass and crockery.
