If you’ve only just passed your test you’ll know how tricky it can be to find affordable young driver car insurance. Chances are any policies you have found cost more than the value of your car!
At Staveley Head, we work in partnership with leading UK insurers to provide you with a range of options so you can get the cover you want.
Other customers of ours who took out Young Driver insurance through us also found these extras handy:
Whether it’s to get you and your car home after a breakdown or protection against filling your tank with the wrong type of fuel, we can provide the cover you need.
Excess Protection will cover the cost of your excess payment should you need to make a claim. This could allow you to increase your excess and potentially reduce the initial cost of your car insurance premium.
We don’t just find just the cheapest car insurance (as this isn’t always the best), but we do give you a selection of cover options so you can pick the level of cover you’re looking for.
Young driver insurance is usually much more expensive as statistically you’re more likely to be involved in an accident. In fact, 20% of new drivers have an accident in their first year of driving.
But we know that everyone has to start somewhere so we shop around to find a range of cover options you at competitive prices.
And with years of experience under our belts, we know how you could bring down this cost yourself. For example:
Choose the right car
Every car has its own risk level from an insurance perspective, so choosing a car from a lower insurance group will typically save you money.
Reduce your mileage
If you aren’t likely to cover many miles in your car make then let us know. Often young driver insurance can be more cost effective the less you actually drive - but make sure you’re honest about it!
Increase your excess
An excess is the amount you’ll pay towards the cost of any claim. If you choose a higher excess it could reduce the cost of your policy. Just be sure you can afford the excess if you do need to make a claim.
Improve the security of your vehicle
Adding an approved alarm, immobilizer and/or tracking device could mean you could get a better rate for your car insurance. Parking your car in a garage or secure location overnight could also help.
Become a better driver
This is a big one. If you complete the Driving Standards Agency Pass Plus (which covers things like night-time and motorway driving) or a similar driving skills course, it could dramatically lower the price you pay for insurance as a young driver.
